Try to remember that the word “faraday” simply
means “a mole of electrons”, e.g. 0.5 faradays means 0.5 moles of electrons.
The actual charge
on one mole of electrons is approximately 96,500 Coulombs, (which is called the Faraday
Constant after the great scientist Sir Michael Faraday). The figure given in text books and exam
questions varies: sometimes it is given as 96,000 C to make arithmetic easier.
