4.3        describe the use of universal indicator to measure the approximate pH value of a solution

Universal indicator can be used as paper or solution. It has a colour corresponding to a certain pH. The colour is compared to a chart to give the actual pH number.  Add UI solution or paper to the solution to be tested, then compare the colour to a chart to get the pH value.

These  colours  are  for  a  typical  universal  indicator  solution.  Universal  indicator  paper  is  a  little different, with yellow/orange being neutral.
