5.17      deduce the structure of a monomer from the repeat unit of an addition polymer
The equation below shows the relationship between the monomer (on the left), and the polymer, shown by a repeat unit (on the right).  The letter n represents a very large number.
For poly(propene), replace one of the H atoms with CH3.  For poly(chloroethene), replace one of the H atoms with Cl.  Have a go at drawing both.  For an unknown polymer, find at pairs of C atoms and look at what atoms or groups are attached to each.  Rewrite with a double bond between the C atoms.
