5.24     understand how the cooling of the reaction mixture liquefies the ammonia produced and allows the unused hydrogen and nitrogen to be recirculated
This works because nitrogen and hydrogen condense at a much lower temperature than ammonia.  The gases are cooled to a temperature where the ammonia condenses out, but the nitrogen and hydrogen are still gases.  The ammonia is easily separated and piped off.
